I really liked the idea of asking billionaires to come forward and invest in that future. May be a model similar to Ashoka Univ (collective philanthropic initiative) be followed.
Minor side note: I think 'innovation in silicon' deserve a separate space in the Square.
Yes Mohit. The initiative has to come from those who see financial value in it. You are right Silicon should get its own space - maybe under the sand ;-)
Well articulated Pratyush. Despite having some of the best resources and minds, we always lag in areas of research, innovation, products. And to my mind the issue is a 2 dimensional one for starters - our ability to imagine & act at scale and our ability to hang in there for the longer term (not just short term benefits). We can most certainly be the flag-bearer for World AI, if we are willing to let go of our 'incremental' mindset. In that light a 108 storey structure will be a catalyst
Thanks Ram! Fully agree on the two basis vectors - thinking big and playing long. Folks like you should spread this message amongst those who can make it happen.
Congratulations Pratyush for these very insightful ideas how India can be a leader in AI. The grandeur of Square is indeed needed to start with and to capture the imagination of India's youth. One thing which is unique in this article is the proposal to harness India's own philosophical ideas towards AI future. Without the ethical part, the society has the capicity to degenerate itself even after all the advances in AI which will come as a result of innovations.
Thanks Devesh. Yes ethical foundation is essential. We have a great wealth of ideas about this in our civilisation. We should do more to understand and espouse these ideas.
Thanks Hari. Strategy, with good reason, is often detailed. However, detail tends to become an encumbrance at times, especially in communicating. My intent was to identify a strategic meme - the Square.
Thought provoking article!

Congratulations। Absolutely clear। Hope India will top the world in AI with help of young intellectuals like Pratyush। Best of luck।
Thank you.

Nothing ambiguous. Thinking big - pure and illuminating. I love the idea of Square.
